Nathan here. The first order of business is to let you all know that we will be returning with LOSTwatch (episode 10) on Sunday, April 16 at 2pm. That means that the LT which was originally schedule for tonight has been postponed.
We are sorry for all of these recent delays, which brings us to the second order of business: an update!
We want to assure you all, especially those of you who have gone out of your way to support us financially and otherwise, that the unpredictability of our schedule will be disappearing. As most of you know already, Allie and I have been working hard as Graduate Students and are just now transitioning into our summer workloads. That means that our last two weeks have been spent marching around town for job interviews and applications while still finishing up our administrative duties as students (yay for exam proctoring and committee work!). As of today, however, it sounds like both of our schedules will be easing into a routine and we can start taking care of the backlog of material we have for you all.
We know that the last two weeks have been hectic, but we want to make it clear that we are working diligently to return on Sunday with a professional and entertaining podcast (and LT) for you.
This is a reminder that our first LOSTwatch episode will drop tomorrow, and that a live-tweet will be held at 9 PM EST for S1E1: Pilot Part 1. Below are some general tidbits and guidelines for tomorrow:
The LT will start promptly at 9 PM EST, and “PLAY” will be announced via our twitter handle (@theordinaryfolk).
During the LT, we humbly ask that if you are a longtime viewer/fan/enthusiast, that you refrain from spoiler-y territory with your comments/questions/GIFs. We are aware of a few listeners who are coming in with fresh eyes and hope this will be considered. We would like them to have as untainted an experience as possible! We thank in advance for your consideration.
We aim for the podcast episode to be available sometime on Wednesday. For first time viewers and those hazy on the details, we suggest watching the episode first, then listening. For LOST enthusiasts, the decision is up to you!
Our Discord chat room will have a “LOSTwatch Spoiler Zone” for conversations that include other episodes/series in general, etc. In recognition that not everyone can support us financially, you are welcome to DM us on Twitter or email us your thoughts via the contact page.
We are so thrilled that the day has finally arrived, and can’t wait to hear your comments!
We know you’re all getting very eager to start watching LOST with us, and we have some exciting news. With podcaster extraordinaire Lani Diane Rich‘s blessing, we’re ecstatic to announce that we will share Wednesday, March 8 as a release date for the first episode of LOSTwatch along with Lani’s first episode of Jed Barlet is My President. Lani is a huge inspiration, and we hope to make her proud in tackling this show.
You can view our LOSTwatch schedule, which includes live tweets, here.
We’d also like to thank you for listening, sharing, and reviewing on iTunes. We can’t wait to discuss all the LOST episodes with you.
I am happy to let you know that we have just set up our introductory episode of LOSTwatch. It’ll take a little while before the show is available on iTunes, but for now you can download the MP3 directly or follow this link to get your hands on LOSTwatch via RSS.
It was a lot of fun to sit down and record our first podcast and we hope you like it. We tried our best to give you a glimpse into why we thought it would be fun to venture through the island for our first podcast. If our experience with this introductory podcast was any indication, the show itself is going to give us more than enough material to talk about!
Please let us know if you have any suggestions moving forward. We are just sitting down now to start recording the first few episodes for an early spring release.
Until then, connect with us on twitter @theordinaryfolk . We look forward to getting the wheels turning with this website and everything else that podcasting entails!
The hardware is beginning to arrive and the plans are coming together quickly. How exciting! We’ve started to map out each week for our upcoming podcasts and we couldn’t be more thrilled to get the show on the road.
We decided together that if we were going to do this, we were going to do it right. As you can see, that starts by having the right set up. We picked up this beautiful Blue Yeti and are going to start testing it in the coming days. Maybe we will put together an introductory podcast for you guys. Who knows…
The site is coming together, too. We’ve sent our ideas for some artwork to one of our talented friends and should have everything finished by the end of February.
The outpouring of support over the last week has been amazing. You have provided us with so much useful and encouraging feedback over the last week that we cannot wait to show you what we’ve come up with!
